What changes the estimate?
Mechanical, transponder, remote-head, and smart keys use different hardware.
All-keys-lost work can require additional security procedures.
Model year can change the programming platform within the same vehicle line.
QuoteMyKey does not use a made-up city flat rate. The estimator starts with the vehicle platform and service scenario, then records ZIP-level demand so regional pricing can become more specific as verified data grows.
Lost key, damaged key or failed remote: identify the job
For a Manor replacement-key request, the symptom matters. A missing key, a broken blade and a remote with failed buttons do not always require the same repair or replacement.
- If you have the original key, describe what still works: door entry, engine start, or remote buttons.
- When no key remains, select an all-keys-lost scenario rather than the cheaper spare-key option.
- Specify whether the car has a transponder, remote-head key or push-to-start fob if known.
- A broken key in an ignition may require extraction or cylinder work before a newly cut key will function.
- Confirm whether key hardware, cutting, programming and any on-site fee are included.
